Thanks Angeline! I don’t need the help right now (yay that), but I’m a writer so I’m certain I’ll need it sometime in the future (sigh). Which means I’m keeping this list.
In the past few months, I've begun to learn that naps can be amazing. I know of a writer who breaks his day into napping stints and writing stints, and he is super productive. So the key must be butt-in-the-chair-time, and head-on-the-pillow time!
I like to think of motivation as a well. It’s important to give yourself the chance to refill, it’s also important not to drain yourself in a day or week until there’s no water left!
Yeah I have to remind myself to do all these things. I have a tendency to try and brute force my way through it even though I know sometimes it's better to just step away and take a bit of time to recharge.
Agreed. Liked, restacked and shared to Bluesky ❤️
Thank you, I'm so glad it resonated.
Needed to read this today - thank you!
Happy to help!
You have a way of writing that doesn't shout advice it gently changes the way the reader thinks. I really appreciated that.🌸✨
Oh my goodness, thank you so much! That's such a beautiful comment!

It's here when you need it!
Amen! I recently gave myself the privilege of not writing on weekends. It makes a huge difference. Also, the time for naps is nice.

They don't have to be long. I usually just take 20 to 30 minute naps. Those are more refreshing than the longer naps. Highly recommended!
20 minute power naps are a hidden gem
They are amazing.
That sounds fantastic!
It's great to give yourself that space to recharge. Our culture promotes go-go-go, but we also need rest to be able to go again.

You're so right! You can't pour from an empty cup!

I think we all do. Conditioned by a culture that holds constant productivity above all else.
